Report: Austin Rivers, led by NBA


Duke guard Austin Rivers will enter the NBA draft, ESPN.com and CBSSports.com reported Friday.

The Duke spokesman Matt Plizga said Rivers, an unknown and the son of Celtics coach Doc Rivers, his plans for the future this weekend with his family discussed, and an announcement about his future is expected next week.

Rivers averaged a team leading 15.5 points and was a unanimous choice as Atlantic Coast Conference's rookie of the year.

ESPN.com reports former Central Michigan guard Trey Zeigler is this weekend at Duke. Zeigler, who was granted his release after his father, Ernie Zeigler, retired as Central's coach, is considering a transfer to Duke.

Kentucky first-forward Michael Gilchrist Kidd also expected to NBA draft to go, ESPN.com reported.

Kidd-Gilchrist is the average of 11.8 points and 7.6 rebounds in 31 games.


Duquesne coach fired; Talley transfers under
-Ron Everhart has been sacked as coach at Duquesne.

Everhart six seasons with the Dukes spend and 99-89, but three members of the team - including internship guard Michael Talley of Detroit - announced intentions to transfer.

Talley averaged 7.5 points in 31 games.


Nebraska rent Colorado State coach
Nebraska Colorado State's Tim Miles was hired as its new basketball coach.

Miles, 45, who replaced Doc Sadler, 20-12 and led the Colorado State its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2003. Nebraska has not in the NCAA tournament games since 1998.

Minnesota's Mbakwe extra year granted
The NCAA obviously injured Minnesota forward Trevor Mbakwe a sixth season of eligibility. Now it is up to Mbakwe to decide whether he wants it to take.
